Besides the BBK ones...can anyone confirm if the Accufab TB will pass? Doesnt say in LMR website, called LMR and they dont know, went on accufab webite and only says, Application: This 70mm Accufab throttle body and throttle body in combination with spacer is specifically designed as a direct bolt on for use on the 1986 - 1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L.
I dont want the BBK, rather get the accufab, or if anyone can recommend a smog legal brand (rather not buy non carb TB and swap back to stock come smog time, even if it takes 20 minutes to swap)
add: just called accufab customer service, they told me only thing that stands out on the accufab is that its polished, but there is no accufab brand stamp on the outside of it.
I wonder if saying i had my stock TB polished will work...damn

BBK and Edelbrock use to be the same, they both suck, never had a problem with Accufab, I wouldn't worry about the visual for smog, the smog tech probably wouldn't notice and probably wouldn't know what he is looking at, just looks like stock but polished, what mass air meter are you running?

That's funny Neight!!
I have the 24# Pro-M and called that company. The Pro-M for 24# is not smog legal, but like Lee said, the one for 19# is. He sent me a sticker for the 19# and I stuck it on there. Passed with no issues!! I can get you the number if you wish.

The stock one is easy enough to swap in but if your smog guy cares that much about a part that has no effect on emissions, you need to find a new smog shop.

Bottom line Martinna, most "legal" smog shops will look for 3rd party parts (visual) and require CARB numbers regardless of their impact on emissions, like this subject. Seems like any part replacement/upgrade has to have a CARB number. I had to replace my Ford Racing shorty headers on my truck because it didn't have a number. They're no different than the headers I replaced them with, except for a CARB number. Total crap! California sucks about this issue.

You just said the problem. If you have two identical car parts on your truck, but the law says one is not legal because it doesn't have a number scratched onto it, then that's a law no one should worry about. The only justification the government has to control so much of your car hobby is due to environmental concerns. That's it. Having a number scratched on a part doesn't change the environmental impact of a part. CARB and the EPA lost their moral and rational authority a long time ago. We should only follow laws that are moral and rational.

Some of the BBKs make a whistling sound at idle.

Some people have problems with them sticking. I never had that problem with mine and I've had it for years. It makes a nice whistle sound when you get on it.

i like that BBK is CARB and they come with the TPS sensor (if bought new from LMR), but i ended up going with the 70mm accufab.
