I met him in late 2010 when he showed up to the Sunrise lowes meet. Not 100% sure if this was him but that clean fast SB Vert Cobra on slicks was pretty unmistakable.

Sounds like he was a good guy. Wished they would have put a pic of him in the article.
Really cool of drew to build him a motor out of his own pocket and for Jim to gift the car back to his daughter.

Jim was a super solid guy! Even when we would talk smack to each other he was always a gentlemen about it. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. We will race again in heaven my friend. RIP

RIP, Uncle Jim.
One of my favorite memories of Jim involved my '12 Boss 302 and an unexpected meeting on Sunrise one night. I was cruising home and Jim pulls up next to me at a light... revving the engine in his rental car for all it was worth and wearing a big grin on his face. He yelled at me... "It sounds good! Lemme hear it!" Of course, I obliged and ripped the Boss off the line. We pulled over afterwards and talked for awhile. He mentioned that the Cobra was down for a bit. IIRC, he joked about being on his way to Reno to win some engine money.
I didn't know Jim well but he was a great guy... an automotive enthusiast in the truest sense. Very sad that he's gone.

R.I.P. Jim, you will be missed by us all, and to Drew for being the man he is, some of you might not know him, he doesn't talk much, but he not only finished the Cobra, he was at the hospital every day for weeks to see Jim, I salute you for that

That was a great memorial for Jim. Although I didn't meet him he sure does sound like an awesome man to have known and been around.
Drew is a standup guy. Much respect for him!

Man rip uncle Jim. Jim and Drew used to tell me I could borrow the slicks whenever I would go up to race when I was " trying "to be as quick as his car.
Great gentleman , he will be missed and my prayers go out to Jim and his family.
