69 but who's counting. Bad ass

Also, the 429SCJ didn't come out till '71. So the likelihood that it's a legit SCJ is probably slim.

I thought it was introduced in 69

That was a 428 cobra jet and it was either late 67 or early 68 I think. That was an FE series motor the 429 was a 385 series motor.

They where introduced in 69 to fords lineup of bbf replacing the fe line. From what I've read now the scj wasn't offered in a mustang till 71 due to the boss9 not making sales goals it seams so they changed the heada and intake..

'68 1/2 was the first 428CJ. The 428SCJ came out in '69. Then in '71 the 429 (385 series) replaced the 428 (FE Series). The only thing the 428 and 429 share is the big block bellhousing bolt pattern. The only 385 series motor that made it into a pre-'71 was the Boss 429.

iirc. 428cj were April 68, the scj 428 was released in Nov 68. In late 70 they offered a 429cj option. But no 429scj tell 71.

it doesn't seem like they are saying the engine was original to the car. Just that it's a 429SCJ and the car is a 69 fastback.
cool car, I'd rather a uncut stock hood and no tunnel ram + spacers junk.
I think the price is amazing if it really has a 429 scj

What would you guys say the car is really worth, 25,000 seems high to me?

Being a owner of a 69 fastback I see what's posted all the time.
This car has actually been for sale on and off and two years. Has a salvage title.
The car is very solid. Looks like a good deal minus the salvage rebuilt title which I think is what's hurting him
He also has a 71 Chevelle

I'm not a fan of all those spacers either..looks janky. Also "too much to list" is kinda lame when you're asking for that much coin.

that dude is full of shit. He has been trying to sell this car , as said, for 2 yrs now. sometimes its up for $35k sometimes for $25. I called him and started asking questions and he couldn't answer any of them. all he could say is the car is badass and will smoke anything at sac raceway. Couldn't even tell what motor came original to the car. Didn't know what I meant when asked if it was an "f code". and never sent me any of the info I asked about.

Which is why in my first post I questioned how authentic of a SCJ it really is. Posting "too much to list" and not posting what the casting numbers of the block and heads are, really make me question that it's a legit SCJ. Shit, for all we know, it could be a beater 429 out of a '73 Thunderbird.
