So, I'm replacing my clutch on the 2011. The kit comes with a pilot bushing. I have under 25k miles on the car, but figured I might as well replace it. In the past these bushings have been a huge pain, causing much cringing even at the thought of removing them.

I saw a video with bread and watched the guy remove his bearing completely with nothing more than bread, hammer, and a dowel. I used bread, hammer, and a 1/2" socket extension, worked perfectly with no fuss, and came right out.

if you don't like bread you can use lots of other things, like wheel bearing grease.

it's just physics...

Bread seemed to be the least expensive, & least messy way to do it. It cost me one piece of bread. It was a heel that we were gonna throw away anyway.

Just make sure you remove the bread before it hardens. I left some in the tail of a ratchet extension, man, compressed/dry bread is some serious stuff.

Good to know. I've heard of the grease packing method, but not bread. I guess anything you can pound in would work. Lol.

I got everything back together today, no adverse effects from the bread!

And people say carbs are bad for you [Razz]

Can't figure out carbs, but can take apart a new Mustang and put it back together no problem, not even one extra part [Smile]
