Im looking at a 1994 cobra today.

Do the cobras in '94 have the word cobra in the rear bumper? cuz the one im looking at just says mustang. is this legit?

I think only 96-98 had "Cobra" on the bumper.

You're right. 94/95 cobras just said Mustang.

Just check the vin, the 8th digit should be a "d".

Correct the bumpers say cobra from 96-98...the 5.0s say mustang...

Also the hood is the same as the gt's...only 96-98 had the snorks

94-95 Cobras said "MUSTANG" on the rear bumpers
96-98/99/01/03-04 had "COBRA"

The 94-95 Cobra looked badass bc all it had was the Cobra fender emblems and an SVT emblem on the deck lid...subtle appearance. When someone said "Nice Cobra!" to those 94-95 owners, you knew that they knew what they were talking about...for the most part. [patriot]

More useless info. The third brake light on a cobra is in the wing. They are in the trunk lid on all others, no matter if it had a wing or not.

I hate to post a fact from Wikipedia cause I already know I'm 100% right on this but here you go..this screenshot is about mid way through the 2001 Cobra spec sheet,says clear as day,last line..I've owned a 99 and so did my best friend, both said "mustang" not to mention the hundreds of 99 Cobras I've seen with the same,there easy to spot compared to an 01..

someone might have installed a 01 cobra bumper on your 99, which is very common.. But the 99 cobras never came with a bumper that said "Cobra".. all of them came from the factory saying "Mustang"..
