I got an invitation for this scam, but I started giving it some more thought and was thinking if it would actually be worth getting to receive better service at bars and restaurants.

What is the cafords opinion?

$495 for a credit card [Roll Eyes]

Does the black card pay for tickets, or back child support, or bail money?

To be a member here you have to have bad credit an at least one misdemeanor.

If you're someone that travels or eats out often it may be worth it for the perks you get. I have the SPG AMEX card and it suits my purpose for hotel stays. In the last year I've had 9-10 free nights at Sheratons, which I can't complain about for a $75 annual fee.

my wife and I always get those invites. Straight to the shredder they go... only a sucker would pay $500 a year for a credit card.

Cash is king ... Did away with all my cc and pay cash for everything now , now I'm paying off the mortgages early putting all money towards principal don't want any payments anymore budgeting everything.. Try reading Dave Ramsey book it's helping me a lot.. If you don't have the cash u don't need it

Its just that simple. For some reason some people cannot wrap their ideas around this line of thinking. Dunno how you could charge a unnecessary item on a credit card knowing you dont have the money to pay for it.

I agree cash is king
lately I've been using my credit card for everything and paying the full balance each following month

I did this as well. Paying payments for everything is how people stay poor.

I get rewards for using the credit cards and paying them off by the end of the month so you don't rack up interest charges. Plus get points back, but annual fee that big must be for big ballers with larger bills than me.

I agree with this mostly but if you can't manage credit card debt than how can you expect to save cash to purchase a large item? My opinion is if you can save a large sum of cash then why couldn't you manage available credit on your credit cards?

Another note is you need credit to purchase a home, especially in the Bay Area. So, stay away from Dave Ramsey books if you plan on buying a home in the Bay Area and you only get paid 30 bucks an hour because it's never gonna happen. Get those credit cards, play the 10% balance game for a few years and get that available credit up and maintain a good debt to income ratio to get that huge loan for your own home and once that is done start doing the Dave Ramsey thing. Or live is squalor for 10 years and buy your dream home with cash.

I like credit cards and I use them. Its about managing your finances, knowing how much you can spend.
