Keep Ls motors where they belong....
Keep the SBF or do the 03/04 cobra motor maybe even a Coyote swap.

Only reason i consider a LS is for a swap its not that expensive its like buying a supercharger

Lol, it would be cheaper and easier to do a 351 Conversion or a built dart motor.

If your ls-curious why not let your inner mullet out and buy a camaro iroc or trans am? Then again your interior less mismatching painted rubber molding car would look perfect with a ls-abortion clinic in its ricer hood.

Might be cheaper to just buy a used vortech and get 450rwhp or close it..you can find one for 1000-1500 from time time..with ls motor your going to spend on motor, tranny, harnesses, k member..

Like mentioned with the money you're going to spend on the swap you can build something way better and stay ford. I think the people that do it just want something different or piss people off.

Good question I'm not sure on the t3550. If you you're just looking to get in the 400's why not just supercharge your car? You can find good used s trims for 1500. What engine mods do you have now?

enlighten me how cheap this swap is? everthing Ive seen it looks to easily be $6-$7k and at that point you still only have an LS1. A lot more could be done for that kind of $$

Like already stated, you will definitely end up spending way more on an lsx swap compared to buying a supercharger. If I remember your add correctly doesn't your car already have a decent HCI set up? If so, you won't have any problem getting near or around the 400-450 range for a lot cheaper than the swap. You have to factor in all of the parts needed for the swap and the stock 5.3 is only around 285 hp so you'll have to spend more on go fast goodies to get you to your goal.

lol thats cold.
swap isnt cheap by any means if done correctly, you can make more power for less money keeping the sbf foundation. but all depends what you want out of the car in the end...

Thanks guys i can see u feel strongly about it and would only cost me the cost of the parts being as i do the work myself but i think ur point was felt i have a cool setup already just getting that ich again maybe ill go for a power adder instead there in lies a new question....turbo...or supercharger...and then wich brand turbo u get more bang for buck on3 ???? Ponydown ???? And wich supercharger kit powerdyne ??? Vortech ???? Lol these are questions ive had i have a nice setup basically ready for boost duncan knows my car better then anyone, lol

Nothing wrong with a PonyDown kit but they have been doing some shady things of taking orders but not shipping them out, I would get a B&G turbo kit or a QuickTime turbo kit or Vortech S-trim or Vortech Si-trim but I wouldn't make more than 450hp because that's about the limits of a stock block, otherwise build a 351 or get an aftermarket block

Thanks man awesome link also!!!! So man now kinda torn between dart 302 or stock 351w
Posted by NEIGHT (Member # 8741) on

Dart for sure. But I wouldn't keep it a 302 personally, at least a 327. Now if you went turbo I'd choose pony down over on3 and I'd choose vortech over powerdyne.

Stroke that shit. Blow that shit. Run that shit.
or be a boss and do a LS1 swapped 240sx like my boy just did at his shop. No traction at all! deathtrap...

I don't know what your budget is but I do a few things for sale if you are interested, an R-block 331, TFS Heads, Novi2000, and Vortech S-trim with Aftercooler, could easily make 600-800hp, depending on how you set it up.

Nothing against LS swaps: Great setup.
Same car made 610 whp, smog legal on AED's dyno.

610 through tiny shorty headers and catted exhaust. Imagine with LTs and no cats!

I like the little Chevy 5.3, they seem to stay together better than a LS1, LS2 and LS7, which i have all seen fail, I don't know what the difference is between them but that 5.3 amazes me and how it stays together.
You made 610 with a stock block?
