When i bought my first 5.0 about two years ago. I bought it for a good deal. The guy had the wrong door on it. He had a manual door and it was suppost to be power. So, He spliced all the wires together to make it work. It really bugged me. So, i took the door off of the car and put the right power door on it. BOY do i regret doing that. Ever since then it has been a battle to get my door to seal and get my fenders and bumper lined up. Now, im sure the brackets are no good which kills me because before i took the door off everything was lined up and sealed.

I'm at the point where i just want to buy a roller with nice interior and swap everything over from my old car to the new roller. And turn that into my drag car or give it my sister.

What do you guys think I should do? What does a decent roller cost now a days? Would it be worth it or should i pay a body shop to mess with in hopes they don't try and say it needs to be put in a frame straightener and charge me 3, 4, hundred dollars to work on it.

If it wasn't my first 5.0 this would probably be a lot easier, but it is my first 5oh. and ive fallen in love with her. lol [Big Grin]

What should i do?????

Plastic wedges?? Wedges for what the bracket? I just replaced the hinge pins hoping i would fix my problem and it didn't. still cant get the door to seal. If i do get it to seal the door is hard to open back up. ITS REALLY WEIRD and frustrating.

Just buy new hinges(if they make them) or get some good used ones. There might even be some DIY tips on how to rebuild them online I helped my uncle rebuild his on his '49 shoebox now his doors close great with no sag.

They make the hinges (half of them). One of the hinges is in 2 parts: a bracket that bolts to the frame and the mating piece is built with the door.

Is there anyway to tell if it is bent? I'm done trying new doors. This is my second door

It's been a while, but I believe I got them from 50resto or CJPony. They are OEM NOS parts. When I get back I can dig up the exact info, kinda tough to do from Canada'eh.

No. Two doors on the driver side. The passenger door is perfect no sag at all (knock on wood) and closes perfect and seals. I've gone through two doors and 100$ thinking the first door was bent, but they both did the same thing. I'm at my boiling point. It's a giant paper weight right now.

The wedges would help align the door and new hinges should. It took me a while to get it right when I had my 86 ttop. I had changed both doors and the front clip and it wasn't so bad

The guy I bought it from said no, but who knows!! Why would he have the wrong door on it in the first place? So, I kinda think it was.
