Been exploring options for my new power plant. Coyote is still on the expensive side when considering cost vs Hp. Coyote is also pretty wide. Been looking at other modular powerplants because they are narrower slightly. My go to option is stay pushrod motor.

Pushrod is probably your best bet
Maybe a 351?

What's your budget and HP goal?

You'll need a lot of stuff to go along with the Termi motor, like a whole harness, heat exchanger stuff, hydroboost, pretty much all of the modules. You'd be better off with a donor car. The Termi motor is wider then the Coyote, on my brothers Termi conversion we had to drill out the swaybar mounts, on my Coyote converted Fox the sway bar mounts are still on.

Ya my 4v Mach/termi motor is wider then the coyote. I thought about switching to coyote because of fitment issues. And they are still way over priced. Money talks though. If u got like $6k then I would sell my built motor with blower complete. Harness and all. You would still need transmission and driveshaft though

Ya pushrod it is. I passed on coyote due to width, wasn't sure with older mod motors what the dimensions were. I've seen regular power steering kits to ditch the hydro boost and I'm no scared of the wiring. I know fuel system would get expensive but with the fact a termi motor has more room to grow even with the factory blower it was apealing.

Looks like pushrod maybe where I need to stay till I go through the car again sum years down the road.

Lee- my plan is for 400-415 rwhp I just figured a termi good do that easily with room to grow vs an NA motor which will need to be opened up to make more hp.

As much as I dispose them I might go 347. I'm looking at about $7k. That's using a factory prepped block, fox lake E streets custom cam etc. Keep in mind I already have some 302 parts laying around like a dizzy etc. I actual have a spread sheet on my work computer with the build budget figured out. I had a 351w in my possession but it was already .040 over and had low compression pistons and I was dead set on 10:5:1 area for compression. 351w is a little tall in order for me to get the intake I want on the motor and lowering the motor gives me oil pan clearance issues along with having to re do driveline angle. So for now 347 or if I can swing it 363 will be my choice. I have seen plenty of basic combos make over 400 @ the tire.

$7K you should be able to get a Dart block with heads if you don't go with billet internals, are you planning on running boost?

Sorry Lee I'm including headers and valve covers front accessories drive. Looking at a ford strokers DIY kit which is $2400 to your door, e streets $1600, custom cam, lifters, rr is like $1100 , oil pan pump etc. $500, intake with port match is $450 it all adds up quick plus carb, headers, valve covers the list goes on.

I gotta stay on budget to get it on the road. I still got rims and tires to buy which will be about $5k, brakes up front $2300. Originally I wasn't planning on building a motor since my current 302 runs great.

I don't know about the E street heads for $1600, for a little more I would get the TFS 11R heads, but it does add up fast, try building a billet internal short block, that can easily go to $10K just on the short block and I have two like that, lol, but switching over to a dart block would be an extra $2500 easy from what you are spending, looks like you will have more than $5K into your long block, also I have an R-block 331 long block that I could let go for $5K if you are interested

Fox lake does a hell of a job on those custom E street heads. I know a better set of heads could be had for a few more bucks but then I gotta go through them to set them up for my cam etc. Where fox lakes E-Streets can be had ready to bolt on, with their CNC program for $1600. This won't be a drag racing motor and I still want it to be somewhat streetable.

Pm me the details on the 331 u were talking about. Thanks.
