I'm looking into purchasing a truck, possibly new out the lot. Any members owned both makes before, pros & cons etc. etc.?

I was looking at Silverados and F150's at both Serramonte Ford/Stewart Chevrolet.

Btw my work gives me a Ford discount but not for Chevy.

How is this even a question? [Confused]

The rate Chevy are getting recalled I'd say away from that shit storm of a company.
On top of that you get a discount on Fords. Seems like a no brainer to me. [patriot]

We all love fords, but I recently bought a Toyota Tundra, and I love it! They are good vehicles, reliable and keep their value.

I daily drive a 2010 F150 platinum truck. It serves me well and hasn't had any major issues. 37k miles so far so good (knock on wood)

this but, if your into just ford or chevy then its a no brainer. but like 135.0 said diesel next year chevy's bringing back the Colorado and putting a duramax into it n thats what i'll be waiting for

i had a 2012 F150 for 2 years and loved it. especially for a DD. it was the V6 ecoboost and managed well over 20MPG cruizing on the freeway. pulling a 26' enclosed trailer with a dirtbike and 88 GT. climbed the altamont around 2500RPM without issue.

I'm considering the new GMC Canyon. I'm not certain on the new 2.8L 4 cylinder diesel though. It's got a ton of torque (roughly 350) but only around 180 horsepower. I might just stick with the 305 hp V6. It all depends on what kind of mileage they get since I put so many miles on my vehicles. If the V6 gets mid to high 20's (which is likely), I'll go that route. Towing capacity is 7000 pounds. Not bad for a mid size truck.

I would wait for the new F150 ATLAS it has a stornger frame and the body is now made of aluminum and the new 2.7 EcoBoost is going up against the tundra and putting up bigger numbers than thier v8 and it features start/stop technology

F150, best truck on the road no contest.

15-16 pounds of boost, 305's in the back, all black leather with 4 bucket seats inside, factory heavy duty 4r100 trans and 35 spline 9.75" rear axle...I am probably a little bias though.

If I had to pick between a brand new fairly basic F150 and a basic Silverado 1500... I'd probably go with the Chevy. To me, it's a better looking truck. Crew cab 4x4 with the 5.3 V8.

If I could afford the extra $10k I'd go for the 2500HD with the Duramax diesel.

Besides those two, I would consider a new Ram 1500. They are nice trucks as well.

Ford or Toyota for me. The new Tundra's are pretty solid, but are supposedly getting a Diesel motor come 2015.

I've always been a fan of the 95-97 Ford diesels. I'd love a new ford diesel, But I cant justify $40,000+ for a work horse.

Just my .02
