So I just rebuild my transmission put it back on the car.i fix my blown second gear but now I have a slight whine. Can it be the oil???

What kind if fluid did you use? And you sure it's not the rear end

Don't think so. I didn't do it before. I started the car on jacks and went through the gears. And it was good then I started it the second time on jacks and noticed it. Valvoline dex/merc the red bottle.

Add some Lucas. If it goes away maybe you didn't torque something or maybe something else is bad too

Ima take it out and add another shim. I tryed the Lucas but no luck

Did you measure the axil play of both the Main shaft and the cluster shaft? Other than a rebuild what has changed? Shifter, shifter handle or mount? Maybe the exhaust is hitting the cross member.

I think the main had a minor play but i didnt think it would make this much of a differance. so I'm thinking that my be my case. New bearings, races, blocker rings, washers, pretty much everything that comes in the kit.
