So its come that time my motor in my CV Police Interceptor is going out, and i need to start looking for another.

Got a knock and its getting worse, and though i havent pin-pointed it im just getting prepared haha.

Was wondering if you guy had any suggestions for upgrades, nothing that will break the bank like a 03 Cobra motor (haha wouldnt that be cool in a cop car).

I know stock replacements run around 500 if i find one in a yard. and my buddy has one for 700 (he works at a used parts dealer).

Just looking for options, so i can broaden my search. ideas?

Basic info.
2002 Crown Vic Police Interceptor.
Looking to keep it a peppy daily driver,
Already have a 3600 stall and 373 gears.

Call LKQ, you can get a warranty and have a few different options that are reasonably priced. I've installed many engines and transmissions from them and never had an issue.

Good to know, thats actually who my good friend works for and who i will more than likely end up going through. im just entertaining other ideas to see if i learn something new that could be a good option.

no joke as i started looking i did come across the 5.4 swap, and im interested. im just kind on the fence because i really havent heard anything good about it. people who have done it are happy and those who havent are just unsure about the whole thing being worth it. I guess ultimately it would depend on the price.

I'd would just buy another 4.6 throw a cam in it with some header and have a nice 300rwhp daily driven crown vic.
