Anybody else run a centerforce DF clutch in their car?

I just put one in my 82 and its SUCKS for street driving.. I had a ram hdx before and it felt great even at low rpms.. this clutch jerks n chatters at low rpms like crazy..

car has basically bolt ons only.. maybe its too much clutch for the power?

Anybody else have this issue?

What clutch do u guys run with mild powered atreet cars??

I have a Center Force Dual Friction in my Fastback and i love it, i once had it in my Jeep and it was awesome. When i put the NP435 in the Jeep i fell for the hype and put a SPEC in the Jeep and i HATE it. I am going back to a Centerforce Dual Friction when i get the Jeeps trans rebuilt this summer.

U didn't have any issues cruising at low rpms?

No in my Jeep i would crawl over stuff with it.
The only issue i have with SPEC is it is hella hard to push in compared to my Centerforce

i had the dual friction in my mostly stock '96 cobra. clutch was smooth and had a lighter than stock pedal.

What kind of cable/quadrant setup do you have going?
Sounds like its not adjusted properly

Never had any issues with these clutches. currently using one in a friends 600rwhp 04 cobra as well, and it has a stock style feel to it.

I have a Centerforce DF in my '88, and it's always been super smooth. My wife LOVES this clutch; she always comments how easy my '88 is to drive (she's driven it in LA traffic and loads the car onto our trailer quite often). I agree with Vndcatr, it sounds like something isn't properly adjusted.

I'm running centerforce dual friction and stock clutch cable with steeda adjustable quadrant in my 88 LX and the pedal feels great better than stock in my opinion. I also agree seems like an adjustment issue.

I have a ford racing adjustable clutch cable and triple hook clutch quadrant.. clutch pedal feels smooth and I love the grip.. but it just feels really jerky low speeds/rpmss.. maybe I just have to break it in and mess with adjusting it?

I read a bunch of great reviews which is why I got it in the first place.. hopefully once I have it adjusted right and broken in, it will feel better.. it only feels like that when im trying to cruise under 2k rpm..

Did you have the flywheel resurfaced before you put the new clutch on? Not doing so could be the cause of the chatter. I have a df on mine and never had issues. You could also call centerforce for recommendations.

I had a center force in my previous stang daily driven like crazy loved it with a soft pedal. Then my last one I had a spec 2+ and loved that clutch but would bother me when I would drive it daily.. Break that sucker in the right way. Is it going on the procharged 82?

yeah the flywheel was resurfaced.. i think ima wait to break it in and mess with adjusting the cable a little more, if it still does it then ill have to call centerforce..

yes it is.. i agree, the clutch pedal is amazing.. way softer than a king cobra or ram hdx.. im hoping it will feel better once its broken in.. i only drove it for about 25 miles so far, so maybe im jumping the gun a little on not liking it..

If you have the means, Try putting back in your stock clutch cable if its in good shape. That will tell you alot. I always use stock cables..
