Whats up CaFords, so i have a 2000 gt and it currently has BBK shorties off road h pipe and original 40 series flows welded in. I like the exhaust tone but the drone inside the car is getting really old, ive been looking into the super 44 flowmasters since ive read that they have less drone, has anyone made the switch and have any input? Im also considering magnapacks but im not sure how much louder they are than the 40 series, if anyone has any input or suggestions please let me know, thanks guys!

If drone is an issue it probably means getting away from the "Dronemaster" chambered mufflers, drone is just the price you pay for the sound those have.

I'd look at Magnaflows, Magnapacks or Borlas.

I took my Dronemasters off and put on some of the valved Dynomax VT muffers. These are interesting as the have a spring loaded valve that stays closed when you aren't on the throttle and then opens up when you get on it.

I'm sure my neighbors are much happier now when I fire the car up at 7am every morning but for me I went too far with these, even when on the throttle they are a lot quieter than the Dronemasters but the have very little drone on the freeway.

I have an 04 roush with the side exhaust, ( I wouldn't recommend this, since its quite a costly cat back to run if you want to run the side skirts as well ) but its the same mufflers are the magnaflow cat back ( not magnapack ) It sounds very nice paired with an H pipe.

Magnaflow and most Borla mufflers sound like ass to me. Only Borla I like is the race bullets

How quiet are the magnaflow chambered mufflers compared to 40 series flows?

And how much louder are magnapacks compared to 40 series flows?

I had MAC's on my old '03 'vert. Sounded really good at idle, no drone and not too loud when you got on it. It had a nice old school burble to it.

Spintech! They are loud but don't have that much drown

If you want quiet without sacrificing flow, go with borla pro xs.

LOL I wouldn't say they sound like ass but I have magnaflows and at idle the car sounds much quieter and tamer than it is. Other mufflers sound "better" at idle. At wot they flow and sound great, best sounding mufflers imo. They're a muffler you can live with and tame the car down which can be a good thing at times.
