Started really getting into my "most hated" project on my 88 mclaren.

I parted out the whole drive line made use of the old 8.8 into my '79 sold the LOW MILEAGE motor to Duncan motorsports who loves it by the way. And a buddy bought the aod.

So just bullshitting around today I installed my FCA with new bushings and sn95 ball joints hung my bilstein struts and got the gt front brakes all bolted up

In the rear I took off my old rusted cat back all 4 control arms

Also has anybody ever seen the part number tags on the upper control arms? Mine had both sides still hella clean with ford motor company in a nice script looked cool to me.
Any ways I'm pretty much ready to throw the 03 cobra irs in which Is finally nice to say

Once I get it on the ground I'll send the door panels out to refurb the lower carpet and what not then it's off to the body shop

I got pics hope I can upload them soon just wanted to share my progress thanks

If you put an LS Juan in it, then it might be most hated.

I haven't decided on a motor at all but my main goal is coyote 5.0 26 spline t56 long tubes x pipe smooth engine compartment etc. really clean stuff. I need to figure out the brakes ASAP. I know it will all be cobra but will I do manual brakes or the sn96 and up assisted style because as far as I know that's the only 2 options when going coyote

Man tell me about it. Building cars on a budget fucking sucks. Sorry I'm not already fast like you ballers lol
I found a motor out in okc but dude called and said he doesn't want to sell it any more. He must know me personally haha

Thanks man. I had an 80+ year old man tell me about his life repeating there's no easy money and nothing worth having comes easy so this is gonna take some time but I'll have it sooner or later and it will be all my doing if I got something to say about it

Gas tank is out
Outer bump stops removed
And I'm in the process of teeming out the control arm holes to a 9/16
This fills in the IRS front subframe bushing sleeve more than the stock 14mm bolt does slightly reducing wheel hop nvh and slight clunking from the rear end. Being that fox body's have 12mm bolts instead of the 14mm some love is required

I'm using grade 8 4 1/2" length 9/16-12 bolts with washers on both sides and a nylon lock nut. It will be a long night

^ ah I see your learning the ways of an IRS swap..good choice on the 9/16ths bolts...did the same to my 96..

Yea I do my research. How much drilling did your chassis need?

Use a step bit. Takes a few seconds
