Just thought I'd share my latest barn find.

Its been inside this place aince 67'

Original owner and all.

Black plates looking for the original pink.

98% rust free. Means no rust holes. Some surface but with a soda blast should be all good.

Found to be a 57 del ray only 25k produced.

Got a damn good deal on it. Only things missing were the air cleaner/radiator/wiper motor/headlight switch.

Not sure when I will have time to get started on it but for now I couldnt pass up this oppurtunity.

Damn nice find. [patriot] Does the motor turn over? You going to leave it stock or rod it out?

I plan on doing some modding. Considering an aftermarket chassis.

At the very least: tubular control arms/drop spindles/big brakes/4-link/5-6 speed/BBC. Plan on an artic white top/sunburst orange body and adding bel air trim. Keeping interior farely stock looking with modern materials (dark charcoal with with darker orange highlights) and belair trim.

I happen to have stumbled on this car during my daily travels. Comes down to I just got damn lucky.

I'm in no hurry to finish the fastback it'll get done when it gets done. The 57' im gonna sit on for a while till I finish some remodeling work. I take summer to work on cars (built the vette) and winter for indoor house projects (plan on converting a bathroom to multi outlet shower along with tile work on walls and floor, of course new mirror and cabinets too).

After I can decide if I want to continue work on the mustang or start on the 57'.

Nice find! I have a long term 57 Chevy project myself. I don't know much about license plates but I believe the YOM plates are yellow 1956 plates with a 1957 sticker. Either way she is a beauty!

Nice find Sal. Instead of remodeling, you need a bigger F'n house. Something with a huge shop to store all your gems.

Jealous........

Damm that's nice [burnout]

I got it for the whopping amount of 1,500.

Yea you are correct aaron. I do need another garage. The house itself is big enough but I do need secondary storage. I find myself having to store my other cars at friends houses.
