About 2 months ago I bought a 91 LX 5.0 AOD (Twilight Blue) in great stock condition with 100k miles from the original owner.
I've already had a full tune up.
Brand new BF Goodrichs all around
Super 44 flows
2.5" flowmaster tail pipes
It's a beautiful car to look at (especially in the Twilight Blue, which I never see), BUT it's slow as hell.
Before I invest too much money into it and make it a more fun weekend car, should I just sell it, cut my losses and look for a 5 speed?!
I was/am currently planning on, in this order...
* 4.10 gears
* dropping
* disc brakes in the rear
If I do sell it, I might consider spending up to $15k for a new edge Saleen or Mach 1.
THOUGHTS?

15k could go a long ways in a fox but it's really up to you and what you want out of a car.

Finding a clean Fox nowadays is hard to do, 5 speed swaps are easy and there are plenty of write ups on how to do it. Now I can see if you wanted something newer then by all means, otherwise keep it and enjoy!

Sounds like you want something newer, Go ahead and get a 4v Mach 1.

Just sell it and get a 03-04 cobra for 15k

I'm going to throw some 4.10 gears in it in the next couple of weeks and take it from there.

If you have the cash then you can't go wrong either way

If I keep the fox (which is what I plan on), I wouldn't put $15k into it, probably more like $5k to $6k since I paid $4500 for it already.
The $15k budget for a new edge would be to get a solid low mileage car.
Any suggestions in the East Bay (I'm in Fremont) to buy and install rear gears, lowering springs and camber plates all in one place?
