In 2007, I actually had this scenario happen, Except it was 7am. I didnt have any guns, All i had was an aluminum bat. Needless to say, That scared the shit out of him so he bolted out of the house leaving behind his(or ours) bag of stuff. I got him one time in the leg hard enough to slow him down, Called cops and they got him. He ended up being responsible for 6 robberies in the neighborhood.

If i had a gun in reach, i wouldnt use it unless i absolutely needed to. A last resort thing. Im not going to end up in prison for defending my house

You are in Cali. Soon as you fire a round, you are going to jail. You are going to need a Lawyer to get yourself back out. Even if the guy is in your house punching your son in the face on his own bed. Just another reason to not leave a survivor.

Hey you know twice in Healdsburg now in the last 6 or 7 years we've had fatal shots fired in a burglary scenario. No charges filed. Both were actually pretty sad. One was a joke on Fitch Mountain.
