So far I have seen two LSX Failures, first was a stock 2007 Z06 LS7 with 80K miles where the motor scattered into pieces, now today a 2006 Trailblazer SS with a LS2 with 60K miles, I guess the heart beat stopped here.

I have the stock parts to fix that trailblazer but the issue probably came from the oil pickup design like the last one I worked on.
Send him my way.

No, he did have the dealer check. They lied. Ended up splitting the cost of the motor with him

Ehh. With as many as I've had and as hard as I've driven the ever living hell out of them, including road course/AutoX my almost 100k mile Z06...not too worried My brand new 03 GT I had broke down more times in the 10k miles of ownership than LS cars I've owned collectively.

The 2V and 3V engines are.

As are the 4v's... no difference.

The LS6 has a great reputation in road course racing. The other LSx motors, not so much. I've seen more than a handful of LSx motors blow at the track. It's usually on cars with sticky tires on tracks with long sweeping turns, which leads to oil starvation.

I'll take a new 4v over an LS any day.
I'll also take a pushrod SBF over any SBC or BBC any day too.
Seems to me these new LSX's like Turbo50 (and others ) have witnessed, have some serious design flaws in the oiling system.
Has it been consistently the same piston going out too? I thought I remember you guys mentioning #7 going out a few times.
