Ford recommends 5-20w but in my opinion that shit is too thin, and if you live where its hot weather I would run like 5-30w.. not sure if that would void ur warranty tho.

I don't see 5w-20 being out of the question, these new engines are built with tight tolerances.

The cap has 5W20 on it I couldn't find it on the manual.

Just run the 5-20w and play it safe then, get a motorcraft filter too.

I would refrain from using heavier oil. The orifices that lubricate the engine (especially the top end) are sized specifically for a certain weight of oil. If you run heavier oil, you run the risk of starving parts of the engine. To me, it would be a huge gamble to run something other than what is recommended.

yes, I agree ^ Just use the best 5w-20 you can find! Mobil one, royal purple, amsoil, etc

I use to run partially synth in my '06. I changed the oil like once a month...as soon as it started to look burnt.

Track pack cars with Oil Coolers specify 5-50, all others 5-20.

I would go to ford to have the oil service done that way they won't question you if something goes wrong, service wise youll be good ,and not only that the new car dealers Are hard to beat on the oil and filters & labor prices ,verses doing it your self you will probly spend more doing it your self...

If you want to run manufacturer recommended, then run a 5w20
If you're worried about warranty, then run an API-approved oil. Royal Purple, Pennzoil Ultra, even Motorcraft is pretty damn good.
If you don't care about API-approved oils, run something top tier like Royal Purple XPR 5w20, Joe Gibbs Driven FR20 5w20, or Amsoil Signature Series 5w20

My father is in his 60's now... He takes pride in telling me that he has never once paid someone or allowed someone to change his oil.
You know the old saying...if you want something done right...
