I swapped out the motor in my bronco, originally it was a 5.0 and now it has a 5.8, but i was wondering if i still have to take it to the bar ref before i smog it? all smog equipment was transferred over and its all stock if it matters.

oh yeah and when i swapped out the computers, my bronco had a ford taurus computer for a 3.0 v6 motor. i know its batch fire but really? why would someone do that??

Shouldn't have to REF it at all..a 5.8l is a power train option for broncos...just like a 4cyl fox swap to 5.0 just have no CEL and cats and take it to smog..at least when I was doing 4cly to 5.0 swaps 4/5 years ago that's how it worked..never went to REF for any reason but having no cats and gettin a ticket lol

Nope! Shouldn't ever have to ref a vehicle with a motor swap from the same vehicle

Just put it in a 98 then. I like the sn95 style most of all anyway. Could do that rite? Since its a newer Motor. Or would it have to be an authentic badged/seriel'd block?
