It snapped on me the first time I had a shop put it in but they tookcare of me and ran a different kit. This past weekend it snapped but not all the way. It was a pain to get under there being that I'm a big guy. Never had any issues with it and I don't race it or anything. Bad luck? Thanks CaFords!

I can't I'm using a Modern Driveline kit for my 66..I can't run OEM fox cables because they are different than the one I'm using.

Ugh, this is often the problem with aftermarket parts. Make sure that the cable is riding on smooth surfaces. Doesn't hurt to lube those surfaces for added protection.
That's why MM is so respected. Their parts I put right up there with OEM quality.

Yeah i am, theres some good ones out there. Make sure you get one with a good amount of throw to it, my first one was lacking and was hard to push in.

Thanks Luke, if I can get the car on a lift to show pics I will take some. I like the design and maybe I just have bad luck who knows. Not really much places to lube other than the ends

I'm not sure if BBK makes one for this kit but I'll look into it. Although I doubt it.
Ecoboostin, yea I do have long tubes and it does have a heatwrap on the cable. The cable doesn't touch the headers but gets close.. I have to take pics to show it better.

It was fine before. And this flows freely too but I got it in and adjusted Saturday night to wake up on Sunday to the clutch pedal going to the floor. I'll get under there today and snap some pics. How does your pedal feel?

I used to have this problem in my fox when I was running a three hook quadrant. I then realized every time I kicked the clutch in, the quadrant wouldn't move straight. Causing a lot of stress on the cable and sometimes making the cable fall slightly out of the quadrant. Which ended up ripping my cable.

I had one completely snap off while I was driving kuz it was already at the end of its life when I bought the car. It was so hard it would like lift me off the seat every shift. Then I replaced it with a cheap one from autozone N it felt nice N smooth but it burned out my clutch pretty bad so I decided to throw on a UPR one N it's worked great so far.
BTW I abuse the shit out of them when I bang gears.

Yea well mine was a lot more stiff compared to other peoples cars, the few people that have driven it said it was extremely hard. I heard that upgraded clutches can cause it to be like that. Oh man since this is the ONE company that makes this kit...the replacement cable was $182!

^ If the housing is ok you could buy replacement cable an re attach that pice on the rear. That material can be bought at a few different places..... Good luck. Hope you get it all sorted out.......

Yea the trans was rebuilt to stock specs and was pulled from a '93 fox. I figured out the problem now. See how these metal plates are bent forward.. I should've put them on the other side of (don't know what its called) because it would give it strength.

Hydraulic for a stock t-5 is over kill ... You need to route the cable as far away from the headers as possible using zip ties if you have to to hold it out of the way . Also get a stock replacement clutch next time your in their ..

check ur firewall sometimes they crack at the hole where the cable goes in and it cuases the cable stress and it snapps bye the quadrent I had this prob with my last mustang

+1000000 I love my Zbar just lube it up every once in a while and it will last forever. My clutch is pretty damn soft too
