I have heard rumors of some people requiring smog yearly due to this but I am not sure how true that statement is.

sorry to jack your thread OP, but im guessing this would be good to bring to my smog check ( http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/eo/D-241-5.pdf )...I have a CAI with no model numbers on it, but i do have the MAC ARB# D-241-5 on the intake tube...everything else is stock...
