a Government-imposed horsepower limit wouldn't surprise me someday... or top speed governor.

From like the late 80's until 2005 or so, all Japanese manufacturers agreed to a claimed horsepower limit of 276hp on any domestically produced and sold cars... NSX, GTR, Evo... all JDM models had 276hp (manufacturer claimed)

Japanese manufacturers are also notorious for equipping JDM models with 180kph top speed governors... (112mph)

Big rigs come with top speed govenors and our fire engines are all governed to 70mph
