I believe its the one before leopard. The mac book is about 4 or 5 years old.

Sorry to steal from you. My macbook stop booting took it to Apple store and they told me it had some water damage but it would be $700 to fixed and being that's an 08 model I'm getting a new one but still would like to get this one fixed anyone know who could fixed it for less.

If you don't have an Intel processor you are out of luck. If you have one of the G series processors you'll be stuck with Leopard. I believe Snow Leopard was the first OS to require an Intel processor. You will have a hard time finding a Leopard install disk for less than $100 on ebay.

If you do have a core 2 or core 2 duo then you can install a newer os but will have performance issues. I would stick with Snow Leopard in that case.
