So a couple days ago i had my sister start my car for me (baaaad mistake) and she ran it into the side of my dads big ass box truck. The frame is a little bent (maybe about an inch back?) and i need a new hood and fender. Ill be taking the 86 to get an estimate done on wednesday but i just wanted to know what the damages could cost me.

at a body shop 1000-2500 it more than likely to be totaled since the value of the car on kbb is lower than it cost to repair

My iphone doesnt let me upload pics to anythin. My dads insurance guy told him if the damages are over 3grand then theyll total it. I hope i get to keep it with a clean title. If not ill be in the market for a 86 or 93 lx vert or coupe. I text pics if you want though

Put it this way my boys fox got backed into N they fucked up one fender N a corner light N it's salvage title now shit ain't even bad at all.

If you get an estimate on it they will salvage it out guaranteed
They also decide by the value of the care compared to the damages that's probably why he said 3k because that's what the car would be roughly valued at.
I Definately would not get an estimate and would fix it myself
If the front subframe is bent and if it may need a radiator support u can get that done for around a grand

Yep even a small fender bender means the dreaded S word for ya.

Do you guys think they only use kbb? Because i was looking on nadaguides.com and it said 4800 for low retail. I know its not kbb but it gives me a little idea of value

I could probably kick a dent on the side of a fox and it would be totalled because they are worthless in the general world.

KBB value on foxbody's are like 1000-1200 lol

Most likely will become salvaged. If that is the case, buy it back and part it. Or use towards another car.

do you have full coverage?

why not just not report it and fix it yourself?

Posted by Wht86drop (Member # 12104) on 2012-12-03 09:36 PM :

Full coverage is 300 a month for me so i hada go with liability for 120. I dont even wana part it kuz its probaly not worth it. Ill probably just strip the motor tranny seats and get another but better

I thought liability coverage only covered the other persons car if you hit them and you are on your on to fix yours.

Well last month some beezy backd into my fox at work and took off some chick saw and took down her info bitch had farmers I went in it was just a penny size paint peel and got 978 bucks so I dont think fox's are consider total garbage.

That makes me feel a little better because my dad had reported it to his insurance and he has farmers

but if you dont have a deductable for collision it will not be covered, liability is for if you hit a car or hurt someone. The damage you do is your responsibility, its the same thing if it gets stolen, insurance wont payout if you dont have a theft deductable. they wouldnt replace my window in my car when it got broken in

Young drivers with a couple ticks and driving a mustang pay that rate sounds right to me

Im 19 guys. But i didnt report it to my insurance, my dad reported it to his and said that he reversed into me car pulling into the driveway in the rain. Ive tried going to other companies but its useless becauce i get the same prices. When i first got my license a year ago i had a 74 duster and they had me pay 130 a month for liability. This sucks hahaha

When I was 19 I paid $690 for a 98 camaro z28, 98 gt, 92 f150 for a full year under my name. Crazy how much some of you pay for insurance on an old mid 80s mustang lol.

Foxbody + Bent frame = Salvage

I had a friend that had his coupe keyed, went to claimed it under his insurance and they told him if they go ahead with the claim it would be salvaged.

Just took the car to cooks collision in redwood city and they told me that since the car is over 20 years old they have to send an adjuster out to where the car is to figure out the value or somethin. He also took pictures all around the car and interior. I cleaned the car in n out before i took it so hopefully it looks clean in the pics he took. I dont know what the interior pics are for though..
