No worries its just the criminals that run the stock market using the election as a reason to scare people out and then they"ll bring it back up. Its all a game. You have the bulls on one side, bears on the other, and then everyone else in the midldle just trying to invest their money, so invest wisely.

You mean it dropped TO $600. Currently at $559.xx per share. Just thought I would clarify.
Hopefully we can get a grip on everything.

I had no idea that was the actual figure (600) I thought that was how much its decreased... Crazy becaue they were valued at over 2600 a share a couple weeks ago... Crazy!!!

Yea people look for any reason to make a buck so don't blame the elections... For example look at gas prices... It's funny how the price of gasoline goes up instantly when the price of oil goes up... Even tho the gasoline had already been delivered in sitting in the tanks at the gas station... How does the price change when it's already made and delivered???

Let me be the first to say you are wrong. Depends on the county you live in and Alameda county is not a good one for CCW.

I see what you're saying, but see it this way - you're not necessarily paying for the gas that you're pumping out of the tank and into your car - you're paying whatever replacement cost has been assigned to the gas you're purchasing. Not sure if I'm making sense on that. Basically, you're paying market-rate for gasoline, as that is what it will 'cost' to refill the tanks at the station.
Now, as to why there is lag on the backside - why the gas prices fall more slowly once the price of oil drops .... well, now you can look back at your argument
As far as the drop in the stock market, well ... I know this will come across as insulting or unfair to many people on the board, but let's consider the voter demographic of those buying/selling/trading stock/options, versus the voting demographic of those who do not. I'm not stating that ONLY GOP voters trade and that NO DNC voters invest, but .... look at the cross-section. You pull the rug out from a bunch of people who TEND, as a majority, to vote in a certain direction, confidence plummets, stock markets tank, and you end up with, well, 7Nov 2012

Thing is that anyone in a 401K or other work related fund is in the stock market, not just traders. So a lot of people who think only rich capitalists are taking a hit with a down market will be hit in their pocket as well.

Wonder how many people came to this conclusion before popping off about the rich, etc....?

I hate to tell you how much you earned in your 401k since Barry got elected. The first time. Here's a reminder of what we were going through 4 years ago.

BTW, there's ups and downs in the market. What economist do is follow trends, not day to day results. The question is, what has been the trend since "Barry" has taken office? The best predictor of the future is what has been done in the past. Check the books, and if you're still around at the end of his second term. I'll bring this thread back up to remind you of your thoughts. :-)

Here's an example of failure. If I was on CAFORDS in 2000, like you were. I would have loved to bring this back to you.
but here you go. Bush from when Clinton left, to when Barack came in.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=%5EDJI&a=00&b=21&c=2001&d=00&e=21&f=2009&g=m&z=66&y=0
Bush - Jan 2, 2009 8,228.10
Bush - Feb 1, 2001 10,495.28
It's simple...uhhh, what did Bill Clinton say? Arithmetic. LOL.
Put it like this, you still have more than when Bush left office. So stop complaining, LOL.

+1 Some closet clowns need education, thank you Roy for kicking some common sense in them.

Wow, thanks for the financial advice guys. Maybe I should have you two as my financial advisers.
Of course I know there are ups and downs. I had a lot more money in my 401K before September 11, 2001 also. It took a long time to recover anything close to what I had and never came completely back. Then there was the market collapse in 2008 and another big hit to everyones savings. It slowely started to come back since then but I'm saying it's headed down again because of his re-election. Only time will tell and we can remind each other later on as to who was correct.
BTW, AL STOCK. I have never attacked you personally on this forum so if that "closet clown" comment was aimed at me then I say you can shove it up your ass pal. If it was a general comment then I misunderstood you and I apologize. Otherwise...where the sun doesn't shine.
