I got this Ex-CHP from 90GTSleeper.. Its a 1982 All Original.. #0544.. Here's my progress so far.. [patriot]

The Car..

Gutted the interior

checking out the Maier Racing cowl hood

Sanded down the rust & started painting the interior

interior painted

**Next steps: remove bumpers & fenders, paint under everything thats not going to be really visible, and then put on original chp front bumper & Maier Racing hood**

Progress so far..

front clip off

Dropped the rearend..

all 4 corners on stands to do suspension & brake upgrade.. cleaned & painted all under the car..

cleaned and painted all under the front clip.. almost ready for the cobra suspension transplant!! haha

Its hella fun, havent done something like this in a couple years.. brings back some good memories..

Im doing basically a full resto/upgrade.. putting all cobra brakes front & back with cobra rear end.. almost everything tubular.. rewrapping entire interior to original chp french vanilla.. still tryna put together a motor for it, its in progress.. going to paint sometime next month HOPEFULLY..

haha i kno.. this motor aint doin shit against the new porsches.. BUUUUT, once i have my motor put together and dropped in, the car should have NO problem chasing & getting ahead of a couple porsches haha

I had to shoot the last owner a few extra bucks for it, but it was worth it.. and I bought a Maier racing hood.. Ima have front clip back on this weekend if all the work goes smoothly this week..

No, im putting the original 82 chp front clip with maier racing cowl hood.... last owner put on the 85/86 front clip bcuz he thought he would be able to sell the car faster like that....

So i just realized that the pics I had posted were deleted when we had the technical difficulties, and I've done a LOT more work to the car so here are some updates and more pics!!

The car is still gutted inside but I dropped a motor in already.. Its a intercooled procharger setup.. I also just finished the IRS swap this weekend!! Just need to do the brake lines and move my fuel pump before I can take it out for a drive..

**Dont pay attention to the handprints all over the car haha**

I'm in about $10k-$12k not including the TrickFlow motor I had built for it.. Number seems lil high already because Im literally going through EVERYTHING n a lot of stuff I have for it isnt on yet..

Just updating the progress.. Got some pics side by side with LXjames car also..

I got the car painted by another member on the board and have been trying to find rims that will fit with the IRS.. for now i have some 07 fan blades with 50mm offset.. Still have the same intercooled procharger setup under the hood, but Im in the process of building something else.. Got a LOT of hours n dollars put into it, and it never seems to stop.. haha.. im sure u guys know it is..

I need the s197 offset because the mach1 rims were rubbing too much.. im still tryna figure out which rims to order.. n yeah, Im getting some stainless tail pipes.. so as soon as theyre here im gonna take the car to an exhaust shop so they can line everything up.. as of now I dont have any hangers for the tips haha.. right on for some real feedback tho, appreciate it!! The mach1 rims were actually rubbing on the fenderwell because they were sticking out to much.. it was 17x8, 245/40/17 tires, and 30mm offset but due to the IRS it still stuck out to far.. with the 05-09 offset its tucked in just right so it doesnt rub inside or outside.. buuuut the rims r pretty dam ugly haha

Big fan of the 4 eyed Stangs! Your car looks great. I would paint the front and rear bumpers white as it will provide a more finished look instead of a WIP. Keep the pics of your progress coming.

thanks man!! when i sanded down the car, this is the paint scheme it had, so i decided to keep it.. looked too plain when it was all white.. haha.. had to make it a LIIIIL "costume"

im planning on ordering some 05 offset rims brand new.. these rims are to test the offset.. got them dirt cheap so couldnt pass up the deal.. but DEFINATELY gonna change the rims soon tho..
