The camera I have is the Pioneer ND BC-5 and is hooked up to the AppRadio 2.

I only get the rear camera to operate when the shifter is in reverse. It says in the manual from Pioneer that you are able to monitor what you are pulling while driving as well as using the camera in reverse..so im pulling my hairs out trying to figure if i have this hooked up right. For info, i have the red power wire to the rear tail lamps...and the other wires are pretty self explanatory, so im thinking its the power wire that needs to be wired correctly.

For reference, here is the PDF.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/ND-BC5_OwnersManual071211.pdf

The wiring seems basic, seeing they only have a few wires...so has anybody ran into this problem, and fixed/solved it?

Aloha.

Go to REAR CAMERA settings in your unit and change the polarity from positive (+) to negative (-).
Just be aware that once you have changed it you will have to change back to positive (+) if you want it to pop up when you put your vehicle back in reverse.

Good luck! [patriot]

thanks man!

but i just contacted pioneer, and from what i was told, the power wire off the camera is hooked up to the reverse lamps when it should of been hooked up to a switched 12v. also, there is a reverse connection switch wire off the app radio that goes to the reverse lamps...

we'll see how it goes...

Connect the reverse wire to the reverse lights and tie in the rear view camera on the same wire (+)

That way when you put your car in reverse it can power the camera and trigger the rear camera screen.

after it gets hooked up you can do what I said in the other post.

Or you can lmk and I can do it for ya [patriot]
