Sounds like one of your pulleys siezed....water pump, power steering, smog....

But don't know why that would make the car die, perhaps too much stress on the engine?

You need me to come out and help you out or need a ride somewhere, gimme a shout.

Mark I'll be hitting you up fairly soon for some help because I'll be needing it. I'm just happy I get payed Monday and I got some belts to be sold this week for extra cash. And the only other plus is that I had just went to my shop and grabbed all my tools

When you did your oil change, did you remember to flush the motor with water? That might be your problem. You have to really make sure you get all of that old oil out and start fresh.

Na spun bearing woulda made a knockin noise.especially off idle,sounds like a wp bearing fried an is causing the motor to bog down enough to die...or alternator bearing,either one could easily go out an cause this,I think bein low on oil is just a coincidence,but for future refrence. James dont let that oil get that low again,rookie mistake especially tryna make a name for yourself.....good luck [patriot]

so i know i was jokin a bit, but its in my nature, but i was serious with my spun bearing answer(not the one in the muffler..umm shit sorry)....all jokes aside do you know what really is going on? and we are takin guesses, or are you not sure and really tryin to diagnose with our help? just curious, and im still sayin spun bearing!....take the belt off and see if you can get it to run even for a min, no noise and i'd say u got a pulley/pump issue, still noise and you can at least eliminate any pulley/pump that requres that belt to spin!! Ive also herd that exact same noise from friends mustang that had a bad starter that wouldnt fully disengage...probably not the situation here tho

water pump would be the first place to start looking.. how does ur new oil look now? Can you see any water leaking from the bottom of the pulley @ water pump? that really didnt sound like a spun bearing, most likely had something to do with all pulleys in the front. did u put all 5 qts in motor?

Put all 5 quarts in there but im already pulling the shit apart. For got to say that the belt blew off bout 1 mile from the house along with the upper radiator hose. That where all the water came from. noise went away but idk. What would have blew the hose off the radiator?

heat and pressure from the cooling sys, week hoses combo! and if the pump froze (which is soundin more and more like the issue, u get a belt that either got stuck on wp and ripped apart, or continued to be pulled over a frozen pulley and it just got hot/burnt/melted, and off the belt goes and hot hot hot the engine gets! [Confused]

Well, sounds like you kinda "solved" your problem. What I would have done when you were in the parking lot is remove the belt and start the engine. If there was no squeeking, then you would have known it was definitely one of the accessories. You could've spun each one (they should all spin relatively easily by hand) to figure out which one was the problem.

one of the pulley's froze up burnt the belt and belt came off and took ur radiator hose off with it... dude but come on.. really 5 qts.. go buy a honda if you cant check ur oil... "not to be a dick but damn"

Well wh no belt I was able to spin every pulley but my smog pulley. Pulled the fan and shroud off radiator is out too upper radiator hose is off also. So I'll be deleting that pos.
But I'm still trying to figure what made the upper hose burst off?

just replace everything belts hoses and u wont have to sorry about being stranded and shit u finally checked the oil? i would have do that before i bought it....or u did and it leaks so bad that u ran out?

If I don't know what im looking at then why do I build race cars? If I don't know what I'm looking at why do I have a growing clientele for the mechanical work I provide? Why do people text me asking me to fix there car or insight as to what happened to it.. But I'll say this I know a lot of shit but I've never had an accessory sieze on me so I didnt know what the sound was. And yes my car had damn near no oil in it. Big whoop I saved it. I'm happy the smog pump siezed or else I may have never seen the no oil till it was to late. But it's good I know what I'm doing and theres a lot of people on here who know this fact to. ..........as for your knowledge and work on cars,ive seen you start to come up , it sounds like your movin up on consistencey and cust flow, and heard good things! it dosnt mean your th e all knowledge of diagnostic, and really if youve never delt with some specific things, once u find/figure it out, im sure the level your at right now, u will be able to fix most anything and then u know for the next time! but i dont think you would be any kind of mechanic if you were unsure about things n didnt ask 4 help, especially when your stuck in a lot tryin to diagnos on the fly, shit ive been fuckin with fity's for 13 years, never had a smog pump go, or heard that noise, and i had a shop for two years! iunderstand where u were commin from, u werent sure if ur motor blew or wp was shot, its called usin your resources, especially bein ur car, you start fuckin with your own head!

Hater really when have I hated? Cuz i said something about u buying 3 quarts of oil cuz ur smog pump froze up....or cuz u decided to drive home and ran the car when the pump was frozen that the belt snapped and took out ur radiator hose. Truth hurts im not hating just laughing at you or with u how ever u want to see it. O don't worry. The people who helped me identify what went down with my car will be thanked you don't have to worry about that. But like I said and a lot of people know this being a mechanic doesn't make you the best one! I bet you every single person on here has done something wrong while working on a car atleast 2 times. Or you didn't have the tool to fix something or you've never been in that predicament before. Dude shit happens and the reason I made videos was because I know how hard it is to diagnose something you can't see or hear. And do you see how quickly answers got put up with the help of the videos???

Just got done doing a brake job for some extra money to due the job right but I'll be deleting the smog pump running a shorter belt doing a complete tune up and I want to put in an e fan

even better $30 for an sn mustang fan 2 speeds, u can pick high or low or wire 2 toggles, or wire it so it starts on low and switches to high and you can take the orig. shroud out of your fox [worship] and cut the plastic on the sn mustang fan and it sits perfect, best fan ever, [worship]

i have a contour fan now had 3markviii go bad on me but they 2x the air the contour fan does. markviii fan fits the radiator overflow bottle like factory but contour is smaller
