Went out to San Francisco to watch the 4th of July fireworks with the wife and daughter, traffic out there in the city was CRAZY.
We ended up getting home alittle after 2am, and after pulling the ice chest,chairs,food,etc. out of the truck we start getting ready for bed when all of a sudden the neighbors horn starts going off on his car. I look out and catch a glimpse of someone running down the street, so I grab the phone, gun, and keys (no shirt or shoes) and walk to the court a block down and see shadows up by the corner of a neighbors house in the bushes. I walked up by the driveway at the corner of the cars and hit them with the laser sight and order them out of the bushes with their hands up and to kneel down on the lawn. All of a sudden two people come up and start to walk through the bushes when I realize these are KIDS (not teenagers but 12 and 13 year olds.
Here it is 2:30 and these two are out going through cars.12YO lived about 1/2 mile away and the 13YO lived in the ghetto in south side of town (cousins, older staying at aunts house for 4th). The older even resisted when they were handcuffing him and had NO respect (obviously through this before).
These two have and will definately be going through this again through out there life no doubt.
I still cant get over these two were 12 and 13 out at about 2:30am doing this.
Where in the hell are the parents? (My dad woulda beat my ass !)
They were cited and taken to their homes with what they said was a $2500 curfew ticket.

We are at an all time low..... Cops should have done that holding cell thing where they take them to jail for a few hours and scare them straight!

Considering I am quite a bit older than most of the youngsters here
I could believe it if they were, say 16+, hell maybe even 15

yea definitely, man. I just had a convo with my mom two days ago saying that this upcoming generation is in trouble. I'm 25 and I don't know if I want to bring a child into the world anymore, that feeling sucks.

Although you did the right thing by catching the suspects.

For future I highly encourage you to reconsider the decision you made regarding pursuing these suspects at 2am..

Kids out there even at younger ages carry firearm and are trigger happy at the sight of trouble.

Let the cops do their job, call 911 next time

I'm just saying.....

good job tim. these kids nowadays get early starts at being fuckin scum. i know a guy i grew up with that his little brother which is no older than 13-15 yrs old an this little fucker has been robbing houses in his own neighborhood for 3 years and he's been caught numerous times,little piece of shit! any way good job tim,we need more people like you in this world.

I understand what you are saying,
BUT unfortunately sometimes you have to get involved.
I have several friends that work for PD here, they say the same thing. With all the cuts made to law enforcement people are pretty much on their own, and the call to 911 is after the fact.
We are a very close neighborhood, it is VERY easy to tell who doesn't belong.
Not only was it myself, the neighbor behind and the guys whos car was broken into arrived after I had them on the lawn.
I refuse to sit down and be blindly robbed, sometimes you have to take action.

lol tim, 21 jump street is all you needed,
sad thing is that kids that young do carry firearms especially in south side stockton, but anyway good job teaching those little shitheads a lesson

Nothing surprises me anymore. (any which way you can think of dying I've seen it)

criminals are getting younger and younger.

In mexico because the rules and regulations for children is different and they get close to no time, gangs and cartels try to recruit them young to commit the hideous crimes.

We need some thrid world punishments for thieves here in the U.S.
