It's not a post about these 2 cars racing or nothing but just about which do you guys think is better: performance wise and looks? They both run about the same price and I'm talking more about the 99-04 stangs which is what is more affordable for me.

There are different stages of roush and trim levels of saleen. Roushes look a little ho hum to me vs the look of the new edge saleens. Cant really go wrong either way i dont think.

Hands down Saleen. I think they look better, ride better & have more work put into them then Roush. Not trying to dis Roush..... But come on..... Saleen makes the S7.

I would lean towards the saleen. They have a better look in my own opinion. The roush looks like a stock gt with a bunch of cheap stick on aftermarket body parts.

Roush ftw! there more rare. make sure the car has a roush badge on the passenger side when opening the door..not sure where the saleen badge is locatide. cant go wrong with eithet one.

stock vs stock saleens shit on roushes, unless you get like a stage 3 roush then your not even close to the saleen and then your talkin big bucks for the roush. if i remember right stage 1 and 2 roushes are just visual and suspension. buy an s281 for the same price

Saleen badges can be found near the shiftnob, in the glove compartment, and in the engine bay. Make sure to run the vin by Saleen first to make sure it is authentic.

More rare? If you look at production numbers for 99-04, there are just as many Roush's as Saleens... some years, more Roushs. Other years, more Saleens... Both were very low volume manufacturers... Saleen didn't break 1,000 units per year until 2005... Roush did by 2002, and by 2005 Roush broke 2,000 units in a year. Saleen never broke that number. Any year.

As far as which one to buy, I'm a little biased, but Saleen is the better brand in my opinion. Saleen was federally recognized as an OEM, not just a "tuner" company... Saleen produced one of the greatest supercars of all time when they released the S7, which, all these years later, is STILL embarrassing it's European counterparts on the race track (including a stunning GT1-Class victory in the 24Hr of Le Mans in 2010). The wind-tunnel designing of the S7 led directly to the features in the 99-04 S281 body kit. Saleen produced some of the most powerful production American cars available straight from the dealership, muscling out the Corvette and even the Viper.
