I've never been to the track or anything and I don't race...often. But I was wondering how I compare to the average shifts. I'm shifting at 5.5-5.7k there and back...let me know and thanks.

Next time try shifting without letting up on the gas pedal.

Decent. There's deff worse out there lol work on it some more. And please don't power shift if you're on a stock clutch and only have 298rw, it's not worth beating the shit out of your car. Besides to power shift you still need to shift fast, which you don't have down yet. Work on it!

Doesn't sound bad. I usually just tap my clutch and at the same time lift a little on the gas while shifting. I put too much time and money into my current combo to hurt it.

I have a short shifter, but it's STILL like 2-3x as far between gears compared to that lol. I'll try to get an inside view, if I can get my camera to stay upright in the car.
and on a side note, I've never practiced shifting fast. Other than one night doing freeway pulls with a few friends, this is the 1st time I've tried this, and the very 1st time I've seen my needle that close to redline lol.

75% of your shifting was bad.

Never let off the gas. Adjust your seat to where you think you have the BEST leverage and control over depressing and letting off on your clutch.
When my 99gt was stock I would drop tire psi to 15-20psi and launch at 2500-3000.
With Drag Radials same tire psi, but launch went up to 3000-3500.
Don't want to be slouched back when you are in an actual race environment.
These are the tricks that helped me.
My nearly stock runs with just CIA+B&M averaged at 14.0 with drag radials the average dropped to 13.8
