After selling my 90 LX hatch to MikeD around april 2011 and getting a honda again for a DD, i always had an itch to buy me a weekend car, especially these last couple of weeks with this nice weather. either a late model or a vintage.

Came across this clean 1971 torino 500. 351 2v cleveland. original owner, garage kept. immaculate original interior [patriot]

only thing missing is the grill, which the owner got into a minor accident with a truck 20 years ago which damaged the grill, front valence and tip of the hood.

as much as i feel like hot-rodding it, since its so clean and original, my plan is to restore it to factory glory bone stock. with just a nice sounding exhaust and a set of magnum 500s to switch around.

That's cool. Super clean. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the vinyl top. I really don't dig those, but it looks like a fairly straight car otherwise. [patriot]

thanks guys, plans are just to restore it to factory fresh bone stock. no mods sadly. its too clean to butcher up.

although if i would, il do a mild build, like 4v heads & intake, some nice cam, 10:1 comp block, wc t5 and 3.73s.

@ MikeD i know i miss it too, its the car i most regret selling, oh well. hopefully this beauty will fill that empty hole in me haha

Nice Torino,I've had 7 myself 1-69 5-72's 1-73 if you do mod it the 2V heads are better for making low-mid range torque and power, Ive had a few 351CJ's and those boats new all the torque they can get. Plus Edlebrock(finally) makes an aluminum head for the 335 series motors...40 years too late imo. lol! Allot of resto parts are available for these years. Have fun and keep us updated. [patriot]

Some wide t/a tires with raised letters would look sweet on those stock wheels. Giving it that 70's vibe. I'd keep it stock too with a fresh paint job in the stock color. Nice car!

it was a steal... paid $3200....other torinos were going for $2500 without engine or unregistered for 20 yrs...

yessir will keep updated. my dads a professional painter for 25 years so that might be next on the list of things to do.

yup love the 70s look. just gotta grow my hair out, bell bottoms and blast Santana out the speakers lol

of course, im going with maybe all around 15x8 magnum 500s with firehawk indy 500 raised white-letter tires
