What's the going rate people are paying for all the donor parts to swap in an 03/04 Cobra IRS? Just stock parts, no upgrades. I haven't seen too many for sale lately but wanted to get a rough idea what parts will cost me.

My brother has this swap on his '86 coupe I think all he really bought was just the rear end N bolted it up with a few extra holes.

paid $650 for a complete IRS with billetflow diff brace, MM poly cradle bushings, abs cables, all the bolts to bolt it in, and a new in box ford racing 4.30 gears, royal purple gear oil, friction mod, and install kit. I would have paid $500 for the IRS without the gear swap kit.

I had to add MM IRS brake hoses for ~$130 and a catback for $150 but most people grab them with stock parts at the same time, the guy I got mine from had a stock catback but it was all cut up and ghetto.

There was a complete 03 Cobra IRS rearend with bilstiens on Los Angeles CL for 800. I'll try to find it. But, that's about what they run. Sometimes a little more. So you figure 700-1500 is what you are looking for the rear. A catback that has to be modified 100-500. There is a few members that have done IRS swaps on here. I think sic9250 and badassho have done IRS swaps that I know of, you should hit them up.

Blind, Sounds like you got a nice deal. I'd probably have to jump on that too.

Ronin, yeah $800-$900 is what I remember seeing for stock units, maybe with a stock cat-back. A guy had one for $900 before but I wasn't willing to pay that. Thanks for confirming that, I'll just keep my eye out for the right deal.

I'm sure SIC9250 got a nice deal on his.....lol. But once I get around to doing mine I'll definitely hit him up if I got any install questions.

I put a total of 1000 into my swap. I would expect it to be 1000-1500 depending on ur catback. I'm sure there's good deals for 800 with a stock catback. And as far as break lines, u can get everything u need at autozone.

How does he like it? I've been contemplating putting IRS on one of my cars but not sure whether it's worth it or not.

I loved the way my 82 GT drove after I swapped in the IRS, considering that I installed poly bushings and lowered it w H&R springs w stock bilstein, it rode pretty darn well.

I paid $400 for the IRS, had to buy new calipers though and rotors, lines and installed the Explorer diff flange in mine and 3.73s, I think around $800 when I was done. that's with the Spintechs and tailpipes included

IRS swaps are becoming more and more popular by the day,I've seen random ass mustangs with the swap and 3/4 of my boys swapped there's as-well...I went with an 03 setup,MM control arm bushings and F+R diff bushings, stock 3:55s and cover (stock 96 cobras don't break irs's lol) and stock bilsteins w/eibachs.. anyways I love the setup and would never go back to a SRA,nothing like rollin 80+ like a caddy in your drilled ass mustang [worship]
