Just wondering what motivates you guys to mod your stangs? I know most of the time its just me WANTING to have the best looking and performing car so the list never ends.

But i know when i had my last coupe , it had a semi built 302 with a little over 300 to the rear wheels (you guys that know me and know my old car know it ran good for what it was). the suspension was bone stock and i was on 580 one time around 1am going home from Hayward to Oakland and there was a 65-66 red mustang sitting real nice on some torque thrust with a big rear tire and 4-wheel disk brakes. So im rigth besides him looking at his car and he drops a gear and slows down and i do the same and we take off, i jump ahead by about a car on the straigh away but every time we come around a curve i have to slow down and slightly brake because my car feels very unstable. He just stays on it and handles the curves like nothing and gets ahead every single time, untill the straigh aways when i catch up. And that night definetly motivated me to do some suspension work. A few weeks later i lowered the car wiht Maier springs and welded in sub-frames and 5-lugged it and also bought a panhard bar (never got to instal it)... So just wondering what motivates you guys to do the mods you do to your cars!

What motivates me to mod my cars is everything , I love my cars ,and I love the comrodery that comes with your car that i moded, and the appreciation you get from having it ... The thumbs up I get cruising it down the street, the questions I get asked about my car at shows or the track, and even at ride outs, most of all I just love doing it can't really explain it but wrenching on my cars with a bunch of friends ,bullshittin while doing it . It's all fun for me!

Because i was born into hotrods.my stang is just my daily driver, but being a hotrodder, from a car family since forever even the daily starts to get modded.after i finished building my hotrod the stang was just to plain looking

Cars are not a hobby for me,its my way of life.

I got all my motivation for the Faleen from driving it on the track. Seeing the potential that a mustang has on a road course with the right suspension setup did it for me, ie: SFCoupe and 9cobra7...both guys have semi-low hp cars (compared to all these corvettes and GTR's) but well prepped suspensions, and they can eat up high dollar cars like nothing! Though the "driver mod" plays a big role, with my current setup I'm able to play with Porsches, BMW's, and 500+ hp mustangs with similar suspension mods. That's enough motivation for me to keep it going [burnout]

The feeling of accomplishment when YOU put hour after hour of your own hard work into a car and then beat the crap out of it without issue. Having a reliable fast car that was built in my garage with my own two hands is something I appreciate and value quite a lot. Gives me way more joy than the guy writing a check at a shop who did all the work for him. Money can buy anything, but real satisfaction comes from accomplishing it yourself.

the love of the torque first ...and the look on faces of douchebags when you skool them

my 2 favorite ass whoopings

1) on gratiot in detroit V a '95 viper
2) at lapeer dragstrip V a big block '69 camaro

everything else is a minor victory
