so after bringing the car in for the 3rd time for missfire issues and my dpfe hose blowing off and melting ford has finally said that it was an issue with the heads and they replaced both wich came out to be 7k that warranty paid for. well i picked up my cobra thursday then took off with the family in my rental f150 to reno and tahoe. well i came back sat returned the rental to ford hopped in the cobra that night and............ im not one to bash but come on i think the evidence speaks for itself. i will be dropping the car off monday morning for the fourth time on the same issue.

Yup they don't like working on cars under warranty because they get payed less for the job so sometimes they do sloppy jobs

car can only be a few years old to become a lemon

How is a 9 year old car still under warranty?
Posted by SantaClara_Cobra (Member # 9488) on

Sorry to hear bro. I've had my Cobra for 2.5 years and it's never had major issues (these are good cars, so stay patient). I did have a clogged cat at one point. Maybe it's time to hollow those puppies out on your car
I would do some research online. I'm sure there are other 03/04 Cobra owners that have gone through similar issues.

might be a good idea to make sure the car runs right before any mods

You said it was the 3rd time in? Is your cobra stock as in bone stock? If the inspector goes and sees anything aftermarket on your car they will kick the claim and make you pay out of pocket...

ya they are fast and make power but have problems sometimes and expensive to fix compared to a pushrod
the 2013 is a new car, new technology and has warranty

not anymore. Ford did away with separate certification for SVT quite a few years back.

So i got off work and went straight to ford with my boy from work. gave him a ride home gave it some gas but nothing crazy because i know the guy has a bad neck and back. as we were pulling up to the house something smelled like it was melting. i popped the hood my hoses were still in place that ran to the dpfe. Thought maybe because the car hasnt been driven in a while it had a weird smell. got home and i could hear my cats cra kling with the car off popped the hood and what do you know the hose popped off the dpfe sensor near the fire wall. called the manager and pretty much asked him what would he do in my situation its frustating he apologized and said he new my frustation but asked to still try to figure it out and is supposed to call tomorrow morning.

LOL i wouldnt take my car back there knowing that things have gotten personal between u and one of their techs
make a stink w/ the dealership and/or report it to ford above this dealership to see if they can offer alternatives and hopefully then they'll lemon your car.
