I will be cruising through here a few times in the DD, if I get flagged down I will refuse to take the test and report back.

what a waste of tax dollars for what to try to catch some people! they just turn around and go the other way people do that when they see a DUI check point! we should write to our local congress man and report the waste of tax revenue and fire these guys and put that money towards education

I tried to get in there a few times but I guess my 03 Dodge Ram DD is not Suspect. There was 3 workers out there, and CHP on site, overall cost had to be around $1500 just to run one of those for a day. What a waste of our hard earned money. This state fucking kills me!

It would be interesting to know if their protocol informs motorists that this is a voluntary test or not.

My guess is that knowing that is your responsibility and most people see the CHP and just go along with it out of ignorance and fear.

OK, so I see some are finally getting the idea ....
As I have posted in the past........

Just so everyone knows you have a 100% right to refuse !!!!

I have been through these numorous times, they use to setup on a large 2 lane road down the road from my house.

Refused their "survey" EVERYTIME !!(about 3)

They use a CHP to direct a vehicle onto the dyno after a vehicle finishes and drives off. If you are the next vehicle CHP will direct you over to take the test. (NO they do NOT tell you its voluntary)
Just tell them you are refusing the test, I told him flat out it was a waste of my time, taxpayer money, and CHP could be doing something (sure he could find SOMETHING in Stockton)and that I was refusing the test.
They are quite surprised when someone refuses because the use intimidation (use CHP)and never once yell you its voluntary.
As I have said, I have been through multiple stations .... I want EVERYONE to know you have the right to refuse !!!!
Nothing like refusing and driving by a few minutes later and reving the hell out of a Mustang (had glasspacks on it when I purchased 87 GT and resold the car right after)and the looks I got....... PRICELESS

Been there and done that !!!
So please keep me from banging my head against the wall and remember you have the right to refuse and do so !!
No need to get worked up over these !!
