Just got my IRS swap finished in my 96 cobra and I must say that's its probably if not the MOST significant mod I've ever done to a mustang besides a healthy engine lol,its an 03 cobra setup with MM sub frame bushings and diff mount bushings,I love every bit of it and been wanting this swap forever, ill post pics tommorrow if this weather clears up,but until then show me whatcha got
Btw,BIG shout out to my uncle (cartfan) for the hook-up! Good ass cat and nobody should hesitate dealing buisness with either one of us Thanks again bro!

lets see some pics... the tailpipe tip routing can be a bit tricky if you dont customize them, which is what i did on my setup.

from what i recall that car still has a solid axle but uses the IRS catback. one thing i dont like about that car is from the side you can see the tip to tailpipe connection. on new edge due to how the bumper is designed the catback tucks in nicely whereas the sn95 shows the entire tailpipe similar to an LX.

damn this looks pretty ill. Couple questions for those that done it or know.
1. Outside the look, what are the reasons to do this? (comfort, cornering...)
2. How much does a mod like this run? (to have done at a shop)
3. Oh and can it be done on 94/95's?

I like the idea of using the IRS catback on a SRA, does anyone here know of any foxes or SN's with that setup ? I think it would look super clean. If so, what would it take to have the IRS catback modified to fit on a SRA ?

i dont have any but i too am going to do this mod in the near future. for those wondering what or why someone would do it, its just a better all around daily driver rear end. it already has gears stock and no solid axle can match the comfort or handling of an irs with similar mods.
and of course, the catback looks sinister! all about preference though.

heres my money shot...really need to take some new shots as these are from over 2 years ago.
side shot, notice how the tip transition to the tailpipe is hidden. most IRS sn95s ive seen have the tailpipes too low where u see the unsightly 2.5" tailpipe mating to a 3.5" tip. had a shop in alameda modify the pipes to get the routing just right at least to my preference.

^ That looks good, but now it looks as if your tips are facing down. And i cant stand a goofy tailpipe or tip setup. to each their own though .
Heres mine, a quick shot. Car was dirty..
Mac 3" catback..

polish them tailpipes.
haha
the tips were slanted intentionally to hide the tip to tailpipe transition. actually looks really good in person and gives u the illusion of a seamless tailpipe. i just couldnt have that unsightly 2.5" to 3.5" transition be seen on the side like u typically see on sn95s w/ IRS setups.
i went as far as considering fabricating a 3" tailpipe to resemble an LX style but figured it wasnt worth the effort to me.
