I think it's because you don't see as many clean convertibles as you do coupes and GTs, they're all beat or stock so people don't know what convertibles are capable of looking like. A good example of a clean conv is stangin' here on the board.

I must admit, I do sometimes miss mine for weather like we've had recently, but I don't think I'd ever buy another one for these reasons:

Flexy
Twisty
Leaky
Heavy

But this is just my opinion, and in no way do I speak for all. As a matter of fact, I think I'll be using the pic you posted and my new screensaver for the week. [patriot]

I don't think it's fox verts in particular, but verts in general. I have never been a fan of verts in general coupes and hatches/ fastbacks just have cleaner lines, but I love boat drops and old school deville with dual benches are sick

Most people on forums seem to prefer coupes, as for me as long as there is good weather and I can drop the top on the Cobra I'm happy!

yea, heavy is a reason i can see because i can kinda feel the difference from the coupe i had, and my vert...but im not all wound up in getting low times, just good times (corny, i know)

I have a 98 GT Vert, it was my first vert and daily driver.

Very cool car in the summer!

top leak when you washed it, not a lot just little drips, but annoying
Super COLD in winter mornings,
Loud wind noise on the highway speeds
No Trunk space,
Back seat useless

I just thinks coupes are over all better, and even more when they are daily drivers.

I had one too they jus bootsy to me played out i dnt like alot of people in my bizz either.its jus to high-siding to me.some look nice but i agree with the flex heavy drippy windy etc.but those are ok.an thats my oppion to.some people like it some dont.

Yeah verts flex Alot and yeah the wind makes Noise with the top ... What do you expect from a 25 y/o car . After upper and lower tubular control arms ,4pt. Roll bar, subframe connectors and a strut tower brace my vert was solid .

Im definitely a fan of fox verts. GT more than coupe. If i had the room i would get one. I always see a nice white GT with a roll bar on nice days in south city. Im not sure who the dude is but he looks OG. SSFSVT old black one was sick too till my boy hydroplaned on 280

my wife had a 91lx 5.0 vert for ~10 years, she loved it but as mentioned before it was leaky, flexy, very loud on the freeway, and made a lot of squeaks while driving.

Ford came a long way though as we replaced it with a 2008 gt premium convertible, it's not leaky, it's not flexy, it's quiet on the freeway, nothing squeaks, and the top is 10000x easier to open/close to raise or lower, the old fox latches were a complete PITA, the new car can be latched or unlatched with 2 fingers.

Well look at the foxs top it was bound to happen lool clean fox suckie top.lol my first stang was a vert I loved it late summer nights top down cruise dwn town wit my girl later find a good spot and go at it so romamtic ummm..lol I would buy a convertable again some day..but yea loud suckie and windy..lol o yea if you have no good gaskets ur gonna get a boubble top..
