You just need title in hand might need a vin verified and brake and lamp but shouldn't have to pay a back fees over 10 to 7 yrs back

Go to a AAA office where can register a car, youll have better luck there trying to waive any fees.... from what I heard DMV paid a company to make sure all cars were back in the system, no more out of the system cars.
Goodluck dude.

alright, well i got it with no title, i know i hasnt been registered since 96 because i ran a vin check on it, im hoping it'll be as easy as applying for a title like an old school
the last owner bought it as a lien sale and never registered it under his name

Same thing i have heard last year from DMV was there are no more "out of the system" allowed.

I had to pay $18 for a duplicate title today. You might luck out.

this might be a problem due to the fact it was a lien sale. there is a lien that is supposed to be sold with the car basically as the "pink" i had a fox like this and it was not easy to get the title. one option they gave me was to get it bonded. just a heads up.
