Ok im doing my first startup next week.does anybody kno what type of oil i should use for the first start up?? This guy told me to use some zinc lube an diesel oil 20w-50 0r diesel oil 15w-40 0r 5w-40 what you cafords pillars think.

20-50 is too heavy... That could lead to some problems. Just go with a case of some royal purple 10-40

Also use 1 quart to flush any debris out and make sure to put oil in the oil filter before your first start.

You have options but whatever you do, do not run synthetic for at least 1000mi.

I would also prime the oil system before start up.

Yup...^^^ make sure it's good ol'fashion mineral oil for the first 1000-2000 miles.

Yeh i kno about priming it first .okay thnx royal purple to exspensive for jus the first start up dnt wana waist some money like that yet.what other oil can i use?

Castrol , Quaker State , Mobile 1 . Royal purple and Quaker State is all I use. They are all relatively in the same price range of 4-7 dollars a quart.

prime the motor with oil before you start it up.. i.e. use drill/primer to turn oil pump and prime motor before start up. i used joe gibbs oil for my start up. [patriot]

First start up/break in are very important to how a new motor will run. Its not one area you wanna cheap out on.
