ok I have started to tear my dash out to get a head start
I've called NAPA,KRAGEN,PEPBOYS,AUTOZONE,FORD,AND ACOUPLE OF RADIATOR SHOPS. And all only list and carry the aluminum ones. The rad shops quoted me 140+ to recore mine

well right now im running a 160 thermo and in this weather the car barely gets warm so i cant tell you a dead on accurate answer but it is warm i bet with a 180 thermo or 192 it would be hot.. to my understanding aluminum dissipates heat better then copper so i would think they do a better job at throwing off the heat but ive also heard its a matter of opinion.. but imo if your having a hard time finding a copper id just throw in aluminum..

I went from copper to aluminum. Performance is the same. I wouldn't worry about getting a copper one.
