I'm sicker than a dog today but still managed to work a half day at the shop today. One of our customers has an 04 cts-v 4 door (the one that actually looks sick as fuck). It only came in for an oil change, a k&n filter service, and new drive belts (that AC belt was a bitch and a half, I wanted to take the fans out like alldata said to give me more room, but my boss didn't think it was necessary ) anyways I've worked on this car and drove it before, but I really drove it this time. God damn that thing hauls, and is soooo fuckin comfortable. I love the way it looks, this one was silver with black interior. And these are the slow ones. The new cts-v does 0-60 in a fraction of a second slower than bugati, for a small fraction of the price. But I'm not a fan of how the new ones look. Plus I can't afford one.
Kbb private party for an 04 is 14k for good condition. Is this accurate? I seen one on CL, for ten grand but I think he turned it into a clown car (lambo doors etc). Prolly dogged it too. I'll never sell my notch to help pay for a clean cts-v but I would sell my truck in a heartbeat.

Why do some mechanics think it is ok to take a customer's car out to "really" drive it and see if it "hauls" ?
If I knew you did that to my car I would speak to your manager to get his take on what you did.

I can smell ur vagina from here.
I know the owner of the car really well, and he knows that I let lose. I didn't think neglecting to mention that would light the string on ur tampon. My bad man.

Out of curiosity, what was the mileage when u sold it. It's hard to get a good idea on used ones because there aren't many for sale.

You beat on your customer's cars and represent yourself very eloquently online.
I may need some routine maintenance soon. What shop do you work at?

I miss mine, was really comfy, practical and fun to drive.

I don't beat on my customers cars. Did I go above the speed limit? Sure. Did I dog it? No. There is a TSB for a rear end vibration. Last time he came in I noticed his stabalizer link was wobbly (not related to bulletin) I replaced the link last service and got on it a lil today to make sure the rear end noise was gone.
Routine maintenance huh? Kindly fuck off. I was giving a good review on a car in my OP and u jump to conclusions thinking I'm redlining the first 4 gears just because I said the car hauls. I can test drive ur car if u want tho, free of charge.

Exact reason why I don't trust shops, alot of people don't care to misuse other peoples things but when it comes to their stuff (cars) forbid anything happen to theirs .

There's a lot of techs that shouldn't be trusted with vehicles, but I'm not one of them.

no offense but comments like " I let lose (it's loose btw)
and "thing hauls ass"....makes it sound like you did more than just leisurely drive it above the speed limit

I always loved the look of these cars and the news one's are super quick comfortable recaro seats and still tons of luxury I just wonder about the price of ownership maintenance costs parts etc especially once the warranty runs out.

Sorry if I made it sound like something other than what it was cornoil and boost. Regardless the point of this thread wasn't to brag about how I was speeding, it was to point out that these cars are fuckin sweet lol

Put a STS twin turbo kit on it, then it will probably get better gas mileage

I'd like to say that my car is put together well enough to handle being abused. I'm sure this guy didn't beat the brakes off it, as most people say they do. Everyone exaggerates a bit when driving a performance car. When people drive my car, I tell them drive how they please. Although I pick and choose teh people who do drive, because I know if anything was to happen they would cover it.
So only billionaires drive my car because my shits made of gold FYI..
Anywhoo... Not taking anyone's side. Everyone has there reasons why there right.
So with that's being said..
Cool story bro.

I work at a performance shop and we don't just hand over a 500hp camaro to a customer without making sure it's in proper running order, we take it on a few small drives, heat cycle everything, than if all is good it gets a good test drive by experienced drivers, not beaten on or mistreated. but at a regular shop it's completely different.

Lol, love where this thread went. People jumped all over him because he "let it loose", that term should be used lightly. Might I add, peoples imaginations run wild on this site, so letting it loose is like running from the police to them.
Honestly, if you were going to test drive it you aren't going to just casually drive this car up to 60 to make sure it's not vibrating. Atleast accelerate spiritedly, which I'm sure is what Bentley did.
And to top this off I know the guy personally, hes good guy, not going to risk his job.
