Rap is in such bad shape right now. It used to be the voice of the streets, the ghetto, hood stories. Now unfortunately it is more about merchandising, marketing products and selling fantasies.
Rap has lost it's identity. Personally only rapper relevant that I think can save it is DMX.

Yup I said it, DMX. Character aside, his music is as raw as it gets. I may be a lil older than some of you gents. And not to sound like that old fart, but rap used to be the voice of the streets in its hey day. Who else in the game right now, can be that voice? Jay Z? nope. Nas? maybe. The Game? Possibly. There are some fringe cats out there Jada and artists like that. But for the most part anyone else don't have enough industry buzz, to bring that grime back to hip hop. I am so tired of hearing about wheels, bitches, rose', diamonds.... We need someone to say "Fuck all that, give me the streets, give me the hood and I am good". No one can bring that aspect back to the light.

Nah he been out, He performed at the BET music awards. Next to Pac, his music is the only music I actually feel. 'Slippin' to this very day is my theme song, that gets me back on my grind.

+1000. All these "rappers" trying to come up are ALWAYS talking about Lambos, Ferraris and "making it rain".
Then, I see them drive away in their busted ass camry
