So some guy at work was telling me that I was the 99% and the top 1% makes 400k+ a year. It made me think that i havnt seen someone making 300k a year at these protests. Hell I havnt seen someone that looks like they are making 25k a year there. I would be one to argue that the people protesting are the bottom 1% of the 99%. And also how the hell is the 99% scale 0-400k? This procentile group needs to be broken down a little more i think. I have nothing in common with the homeless people occupying these streets!

A lot of those homeless folks aren't homeless by choice. It is easy to end up homeless.

The whole "occupy" movement is a big cluster fuck. Everyone showed up with their own ideas and agendas. People showed up protesting banks/wall street then it was homeless people then oscar grant got mixed in somehow. Finally Police brutality became the issue.

The whole movement was dead on arrival, camping in front of oakland city hall isn't going to bring change. Destroying private property doesn't win support. Making a cash strapped city spend millions doesn't help the cause. Now oakland will probably have to barrow money from the same banks they expected to impact.

"A lot" maybe aren't homeless by choice Dan. But an overwhelming majority have mental disability and can't help it / don't know how to assimilate into the labor force that our society has created. I recall reading it is well north of 50%...

Most homeless people are not individuals who have been in the labor force and have encountered misfortune through job loss.

In Oakland they opened a bank account ( with the donations ) at one of the banks they are protesting against. I beleive it was wellsfargo. Doesn't that conflict with the their whole freakin reason for protesting?

Lastly I was in SF on sat. I saw the smelly tent area near the embarcadero..... It was full of hippys rolling joints, young kids with vendeta masks & three naked dudes walking on the street protesting with the rest of the group. ( luckily I only saw ass cracks but my friend had to deal with a full frontal shot of a man wearing nothing more then shoes and a hair scrunchy around his junk.)

If you did that in any other city you wouldn't be able to live near a school and def couldn't coach at Penn state. [Embarrassed]

They want the rich to pay more, but what kills Me is that they are to stupid to realize that the government will not give them a penny of it, or do a damn thing to help them with the money. They need to setup camp somewhere close to the white house and see how long that would last.

no. not at all. they are not at all organized and not directing it towards the problem. its the big bank corporations (global banks) and greedy politicians. if they are anything like the new york occupy wall street list of demands. then they're really fucked as far as someone taking them seriously . look at their list of demands .. ......COMPLETE BULLSHIT..... http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-ows-demands/

No not fine with it. These folk's need to start harassing the government & protesting on pennsylvania ave "the white house" and not punishing their communities while running up million's of dollar's for police OT in their cities. Don't You take advantage of all of Your legal tax exemption's? Can't blame the corporation's for doing the same rite? Goverment has taken too many handout's from big buisness and now they are backed in a corner just like the US will be if We keep borrowing from china. We already can't challenge them over their defflating their currency which is screwing us over on importing and exporting revenue or they will say OK We want our 1.1 trillion buck's back now then We can talk about our trading tactic's.
