Basically your car has to pass smog and the state ref, will sign your ticket I think. Also the carb numbers on any mods have to match your cars, not sure on the specifics but they do put the numbers in the computer and if they don't match up to your car model etc. it's all bad. Had a friend go through it for no cats, he said it was a bitch.

Yeah you can just pay the fine and you don't have to go to state reff but im not sure how much the fine is now a days, you can go with the state reff to avoid paying the fine, but i myself would just rather pay the fine.

Well I told you there was no point in takin all that shit off if your gonna be street drivin it everywhere...the furthest I would go is no cats.

I thought about longtubes, but decided it wasnt worth it, along with deletin all the stuff you did except ac, but decided it wasnt worth it. So best of luck if thats the support you were lookin for.

Why'd you install a cam in a stock motor? Then remove the smog pump? Just getting busted for the longtubes wouldn't have caused all of this. Maybe you should put a stock motor in there with manifolds to pass the test then install your longtubes.... A cam and smog delete really hasn't made you any faster when compared to the hassle bro

lol dude i was stock when we ran em'...lol

Couldnt you just convert back to stock, then take the car to the ref, and get it signed off? Like a fix it ticket? It's not like they impound the car on the spot. Obviously, easier to pay the fine.

Kinda dumb to have a daily driver with longtubes/no cats/no smog equipment/no carb numbers/non smoggable cam. We're in California!

State riff is not a big deal. They only look for the 4 catts h pipe stock mufflers cattback tail pipes. And a stock air box. You could use aftermarket headers and you can't use flow master cause its still to loud to pass. Just passed mine a month ago. It wasn't too bad after all. They don't check if you could pass smog either. Text me if you need more info. 209-751-9891

I went to court, plead guilty and got my fine reduced..asked for community service, and gonna have my boy sign it off..lol..simple as that [patriot] and sorry to hear the bad news

i paid 450 to make mine go away back in 08 or 09. i think it would have been more if he wrote me up for exhaust but he wrote me up for intake. so i paid my 450 and it went away no visit to the ref.

Posted by AR_Stang (Member # 10223) on :

I got reffed for enadequate exhaust and modified exhaust(I was open downpipe [Cool] ) I never received the letter in the mail. I went to my scheduled court date on my ticket, the clerk said it wasn't in the system. I needed to wait 2-3 weeks and go check again. I'm going on Monday, if its still not in the system its dismissed [Big Grin]

I'm pretty sure that was with gears lol.. just go pay the fine and get it over with. Phil ended up having to go to court to try to get the fine reduced a bit and that was it.
