.......the key is turned over. My dad is looking to buy a 1996 saturn for his step daugher, but when we went to look it over, the check engine light wont come on, but all other lights do. You can see it check engine sighal is there, just not coming on. Is this a fla or nothing to bother with?

the bulb could have been pulled so the seller is trying to get over on the buyer. but i wouldt touch it cuz it needs to light up in order to smog it.

The light was on and they took the bulb out don't buy that piece of Shit

with the info he gave, i believe they did something to the light to make it not appear at all. so with that said i wouldn't touch it

Means that the car has a problem. Check engine light has been ON for so long that the bulb went out. Which means it will Immidiatly fail smog

Definate fail smog, but if its cheap enough it might be worth fixing

thanks for the the comments guys. We later found out that it was throwing a P0300 code (miss fire)With no light appearing. We passed on it.
