Stupid question I know but for the last couple of weeks I have been thinking about death. I realize Im getting older, and that has made me think more about what happens when you die.

Do you believe in heaven in hell? What do you think happens when we leave this world?

I've thought about death a few times in the past.. in fact, I still wonder what its like to die. Years ago, my friends dad had a massive heart attack and his heart stopped for 30 minutes (yes, 30 mins). I asked him what it was like to be legally dead.. he replied, "it was just like you were asleep." I'm hoping its like sleeping..

That's deep convo for a public forum. I won't bore u with the story but I have died, no pulse 3 times in the past 5 years. Brought back everytime. Don't fear it. It was very peaceful, almost dream like.

I remember it well and I'm thankful because I know when my baby brother died, he went peacefully as tramatic as it was to those around him.

Heaven or hell, god or not death is death.

Dan

I don't know what to believe it not like anyone has came back from being dead for days and can tell us what's it like... I have read about the near death and the white light, how your brain process info for some time... I guess I will find out one day...

Death was heavy on my mind for a few days in a row a couple weeks ago. Don't know why. But I did a lot of reading up on it and what everyone who personally experienced death said the same thing. Its like going to sleep but feeling the most euphoric sleep you've ever experienced.

Interesting topic of choice though.

It's as much a part of life as is everything else, I guess.

People it seems fear that which they do not know, or do not understand. Everything else in life is fairly straight-forward - you need to pee? Pee. You need to eat? Eat. You are tired? Sleep.

Death is the one area we can't experience and 'know about' consciously, right? I guess like some of you guys have said, if your heart stops beating, then yea you died and 'lived to tell about it' - interesting.

I used to work as a paramedic, sometimes wondered if some of the people we were called to that had died had some sort of conscious layer deep down. Wondered if they were somehow aware of what was happening, just didn't make it back from the brink to tell about it.

Interesting grown-man topic

i used to trip on it also. everyone dies. what happens after is the question. it could be we are harvested for aliens. maybe this is heaven and hell. the test to see if we are worthy enough for god/heaven. maybe nothing .maybe the bible was made to help to get their kids to go sleep back in the day.i feel theres something out there. there is a reason for all of it. i have seen things in my life sometime question if anything is outhere. then there is times when i truly feel there is something more . i remember when i was younger my two good friends were fighting over a girl. one of my friends were kind of religious. the other was kind of fucked up after seeing one of our other friends murdered. i told them both that they were going to fight over some chick that isn't really giving a shit and actully liking you 2 fight 4 her . anyway the two made up .the religious friend gave my other friend a metal virgen de guadalupe thing .the size of a matchbook.but thin with a thick clear coating. he leaves it in his left shirt pocket. later that night we all get into this fight . some gang of fools we dont know show up. my friend that had recieved the metal virgen de guadalupe was stabbed that night was stabbed a few times in his back. we are helping him taking off his shirt to see where he got hit .he was ok so far talking in stuff. the metal piece falls out of the shirt and onto the grass .this is a few minutes after when the police arrive. he picks it up doesnt say anything. shows us that the tip of the knife broke off in the metal plate.right in the heart she's holding in the picture where he had it in his shirt pocket near his heart when he was stabbed. im not trying to sound like im bragging this was when i was young and stupid .i dont know why im telling you this .i just kinda always like to think that it could be god and not just concidence. one of a few of my stories that keep me believing theres something out there. when i think about it even though there were bad things that happend. some good came out from it.anyways hope it helps ... take care ...mike

The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy is never created or destroyed. Everything just changes states of being and transforms or redistributes it's energy back into the system.

I don't really buy into heaven or hell, but i'd like to think our consciousness or essence is a form of energy that can hopefully transcend our physical life and redistribute itself back into the universe somehow...

Here's food for thought:

If you think of our body like a car, we put gas in it, (Potential Energy). The car moves(kinetic energy), then we hit the brakes. Where does the energy go? Heat.

So actually, when we die, any potential/kinetic energy is actually given off as heat. So our consciousness actually can't be redistributed according to the law of conservation of energy. In a sense, our redistribution is heating up the energy particles around us (heat).

Although, your idea sounds cooler. lol

Yea thats what everyone says. He is a little different, but pretty much 99% of his skills/knowledge is there. Some amazing stories out there.

Nope - Not one bit. Death is a grantee, we will ALL die.

So why fear it?

While that's all true to an extent, quantum mechanics is showing there is so much more to our level of consciousness and what our thoughts are or can do...

i think we have a long way to go before we can even come close to an accurate theory for what happens to our essence after bodily death.

Long vid but lots of great minds with interesting thoughts and theories

I love how everyone is trying to figure out what happens after we die, with all the technology and trillions of dollars, we still don't know!

Imagine someone finding out, he will make history forever! He/she will be talked about in every classroom in the world and his/her name will be all over the world.

There was a movie that came out years ago about when you die..... You have a trial of your life which decided if you would go to heaven or hell. It was a good movie. Would be crazy IF that's what happened.

more or less scared of the unknown. i dont believe in god, jesus, heaven, hell, organized religion. i do believe in karma. and i do believe that your spirit still lives on after you die.

I don't want to die yet but I don't fear it, I'm more concerned about how they think within the next generation people could live indefinitely which sucks because I will be hella old haha
