k so i havent dealt with a lot of crown vics but im looking into trading up the mustang for one if i find the right type.. def intrestd in a p71 with atleast the brush gaurd and spotlight. not to be a dumass in it just because i think the 99 and up crown vics look nice. so basically im wondering what i should look for as far as typical problems if they have any? so anyone with experience with them wanna help me out with some advice?? *** my fox has been beatin the hell out of me latly gas and repairs are killing me so really concidering trading it about to replace the head gaskets then see what cl has for me***

My experience- Usually they will sputter under medium to hard acceleration. Check engine light will appear as a cylinder misfire. Usually to fix that is just a bad coil replacement. That and trans slippage for the high millage ones.
Find more info in crownvic.net. Great forum. Good luck

Thx for the heads up.. what about parts are they interchangable? Motor parts and cosmetic.. yea i was thinking i need to finacialy take a break from the mustang world but wanted to stay in the ford community haha.. p71's r baddass but i see alot of them get abused. I see they have the 4.6 in them to, how far off is this 4.6 from being the same motor thats in the new edge mustangs?

Weak or broken door hinges... very common from bouncing your boots against the inner door frame to shut it while still seated. Chew spit stains, and under carriage damage
